Duties of Territorial

Representatives and Alternates

Become knowledgeable of Mountain River Trails Camping Association operations:

a. Become familiar with MRT By-Laws and Restrictions of Facilities

b. Attend all Board of Directors’ and Membership meetings

c. Pass on information from the Board meeting to members in your Territory

d. Represent your territory at the Board meetings by presenting concerns or questions from the members in your territory.

Know the members in your territory. Let the members know who you are. Display a sign on your membership indicating that you are the territorial representative or alternate.

Let the members in your territory know you are available to help them with camp problems, and that you can assist them with information regarding our camp i.e. our By-Laws, Restrictions of Facilities, etc.

Watch for situations, which require immediate handling by our Caretakers or a Board member.

Make a periodic check of your territory. Look for vandalism, By-Law and Restrictions of Facilities violations, etc.

Report problems that cannot be resolved within the territory you represent to the Board of Directors.

Alert Caretakers of any unsanitary conditions you have observed in area restrooms or garbage pick-up points.

Report dangerous trees and suspected waterline damage to the Caretakers.

Assist the Board of Directors in special tasks such as: camp clean-up/repair projects, Booster Club events, special committees, etc.

Notify the President of the Board when you can no longer serve as Territory Representative or Alternate, and wish to be replaced.

In addition, refer to Sections 11 and 12, Management, of MRTCA’s By-Laws, and Section 4 of the Restrictions of Facilities.
